The predecessor of the Zhanggong Economic Development Zone, the Shahe Industrial Park, was established in June 2001. In March 2006, it was approved by the provincial government as a provincial-level industrial park, and in December 2013, it was designated as a provincial-level key industrial park. With a total planned area of 21.97 square kilometers,Currently, the park is home to 140 enterprises, with 112 already in operation. It has been designated as a provincial pilot for the creation of ecological industrial parks, the province’s first base for strategic emerging industries (Ganzhou’s new electronic materials), and a provincial demonstration zone for circular economy transformation. The park has constructed the city’s first and the province’s second industrial park wastewater treatment plant, and has been honored with titles such as “Advanced Industrial Park of Jiangxi Province” and “Comprehensive Advanced Unit in Six Key Indicators” under the Jiangxi Industrial Rise Park Development Special Award.
