Baoying County, a county directly under the financial control of Jiangsu Province, is part of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, located in the central part of Jiangsu Province, the lower reaches of the Huaihe River, the western part of the Lixiahe River region, and the northern edge of Yangzhou City.It is bounded on the east by Jianhu County, Xinghua City, and Yandu District, and on the south by Gaoyou City; it is connected to Jinhu County and Hongze District on the west, and to Huai'an City in the north, with a total area of 1,462 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Baoying County has 14 towns under its jurisdiction.In 2022, Baoying County had a household population of 848,500 and a resident population of 678,500. The government is located at No. 88, Baoying Avenue, Anyi Town. In 1960, Jinhu County was established west of Baoying Lake. Baoying is the source of the National South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the National Organic Food Base Construction Demonstration County, the Provincial Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration County, and the National Health County. In 2022, the gross regional product of Baoying County was 88.165 billion yuan, an increase of 4.6% over the previous year. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 9.354 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 43.418 billion yuan; the added value of tertiary industry is 35.393 billion yuan, and the ratio of added value of three industries is 10.6:49.3:40.1.
