Mapo Town, belonging to Tongshan District of Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the northwestern part of Tongshan District, east of Weishan Lake, south of Zhengjizhen, west of Huangjizhen, and north of Peixian's Wuduan and Zhangzhuang 2 towns border. The area is 69 square kilometers, with a household population of 54,106 as of the end of 2019.
At the beginning of 1949, it belonged to the first and second districts of Tongbei County.In 1966, it was separated from Zhengji People's Commune and set up Mapo People's Commune.In 1983, Mapo People's Commune was changed to Mapo Township.In April 2000, the township was abolished and changed to Mapo Township. As of June 2020, Mapo Town has 12 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
