Gaogang District, belongs to Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. Located in the southern half of Taizhou city, bordering the Yangtze River, it is connected to Hailing District of Taizhou City in the north, Jiangyan District and Taixing City in the east, Jiangdu District of Yangzhou City in the west, and Yangzhong City in the south across the river, with a total area of 286.83 square kilometers.In 2022, Gaogang District had a household population of 439,000 people. As of June 2023, Gaogang District has seven streets and five towns under its jurisdiction.
Gaogang District is the southern gate of Taizhou city and the birthplace of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy.
