Fusong County, belonging to Baishan City, Jilin Province, is located in the southeastern part of Jilin Province, the upper reaches of the Songhua River, the northwestern foot of the Changbai Mountains, the north and Hwadian City, Dunhua City to the second Songhua River as the boundary, the south and Linjiang City, Changbai Chaoxiao Autonomous County, the east and Antu County, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea border, the west and Jingyu County across the river, and the source of the river area. It lies between 127°01′-128°06′ east longitude and 41°42′-42°49′ north latitude, with an administrative area of 6,159 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Fusong County has 13 towns and 3 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2021, Fusong County had a total household population of 270,869,000.
Fusong County has a vast territory, with high mountains, rivers and dense forests, Changbaishan Tianchi, one of the five wonders among the 35 "ace" attractions announced by the state, and the Western Slope of Changbaishan Tourist Route, which was approved by the provincial government to open in 1994. 2003, Changbaishan Mountain was named one of the top ten most famous mountains in China by the state. Fusong is the hometown of Chinese ginseng, with more than 1,500 years of wild ginseng excavation history, and more than 450 years of artificial cultivation of ginseng technology, is the origin of ginseng and the main production area of ginseng, 70% of the global ginseng trading volume in Fusong. Meanwhile, Fusong is also an important base of northern medicine in China, with more than 870 kinds of ginseng-based wild herbs.
In 2021, Fusong County realizes a GDP of 11.533 billion yuan, of which, the added value of primary industry is 2.429 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 2.098 billion yuan, and the added value of tertiary industry is 7.007 billion yuan. The proportion of the structure of the three industries is 21.1:18.2:60.7.
