Mudian Township, belonging to Luyi County, Zhoukou City, Henan Province, is located in the central northwestern part of Luyi County, neighboring Minglu Street in the east and southeast, bordering Zhaocun Township in the south and southwest, neighboring Qiuzhi Township and Xuanwu Township in the west and northwest, and Yanghukou Township and Jiatan Township in the north and northeast across the Vortex River, with a total area of 63.52 square kilometers from Luyi County. In September, 1945, it was Mudian Township; in April, 1965, it was Mudian Commune; in April, 1983, it was changed from Mudian Commune to Mudian Township. As of the end of 2019, the population of Mudian Township registered as 62,724. As of June 2020, Mudian Township has 2 communities and 34 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township people's government based in Songxin Community.
