Lingbao is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Henan Province, administered by Sanmenxia City. It is located on the western edge of Henan Province, between latitudes 34°07'10"~34°44'21 "N and longitudes 110°21'18"~111°11′35″ E, with a total area of 3,011 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Lingbao had a resident population of 656,800. As of June 2023, Lingbao City has 10 towns and 5 townships under its jurisdiction, with the municipal government stationed at No. 19 Jincheng Avenue.
Lingbao City was Taolin in the ancient times, and the name of the city was Taolin Se in the Zhou Dynasty. Han, set Hu County. Sui Kaihuang sixteen years (596), set Taolin County. There are 4 national 4A level scenic spots: Hangu Pass Historical and Cultural Tourism Area, Han Mountain Tourism Area, Yanzi Mountain Scenic Area, Little Qinling Geopark Niangniang Mountain Scenic Area; 2 national 2A level scenic spots: Jing Mountain Huangdi Ding Ding Plain Tourism Area and Dinghu Bay Scenic Area which is known as "Baiyangdian of West Henan". In addition, there are Yawu Mountain Scenic Spot, Longhu Scenic Spot and so on.
In 2022, the GDP of Lingbao City completed 49.04 billion yuan, an increase of 4.0% year-on-year, an increase of 0.9 percentage points over the first half of the year, of which the added value of the primary industry amounted to 6.61 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8%; the added value of the secondary industry amounted to 24.75 billion yuan, an increase of 5.2%; the added value of the tertiary industry amounted to 17.68 billion yuan, an increase of 2.1%.
