Wuzhi County is part of Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. Located in the northwest of Henan Province, southeast of Jiaozuo City, at the confluence of the Yellow River and Qin River, it is bordered on the east by Wujia County and Yuanyang County, on the west by Boai County and Wen County, on the north by Xiuwu County, and on the south by Xingyang City, with a total area of 797.9 square kilometers. As of June 2023, Wuzhi County has 4 streets, 7 towns, and 4 townships under its jurisdiction. The total population is 740,000 (2023).
Wuzhi was named after King Wu of Zhou, who traveled through the area. Wuzhi rice and four kinds of Chinese herbal medicines, namely, huai dihuang, huai hyssop, huai yam and huai chrysanthemum, are protected products with geographical indications. It is a national food industry county, national health county, national garden county, national advanced county for scientific and technological progress, and the first county of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area.
In 2021, Wuzhi County's gross regional product will be 30.88 billion yuan; the added value of the tertiary industry will be 16.29 billion yuan, the total retail sales of consumer goods will be 12.72 billion yuan, the general public budget revenue will be 1.55 billion yuan; the tax revenue will be 1.05 billion yuan, of which the main tax type will account for 66.6% in 2021, up from 55.9% in 2016.
