Da Ming County, part of Handan City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeastern part of Hebei Province, the eastern part of Handan City, and the junction of Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces. It is located between longitude 114°58′11″~115°28′28″ East and latitude 36°05′07″~36°30′10″ North. Da Ming County is situated at the southern end of the North China Great Plain, with the terrain sloping from southwest to northeast. The total area of Da Ming County is 1,052.98 square kilometers, and the climate of the territory is temperate continental monsoon climate. As of April 2023, there are 12 towns, 8 townships, and 651 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of Da Ming County, and the county government is located at No. 28, Da Mingfu Road, Da Ming Town. According to the seventh population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Da Ming County was 726,396 people.
In the third year of Jianzhong of Tang (782), Wei Prefecture was changed to Daming Prefecture, and after 1970, Daming County came under Handan City. Daguang Expressway, 106 National Highway and 215 Provincial Highway run through the north and south, while Qinglan Expressway and 313 Provincial Highway run through the east and west. There are existing ancient cities of Song and Ming Dynasties, with more than 180 historical monuments, such as Five Rites Memorial Monument, Catholic Cathedral, Xinghua Temple, Maling Road, etc. The Yongji Canal of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal flows through Damei.On February 2, 2019, it was rated as a county-level advanced unit of national grassroots traditional Chinese medicine work by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (NATCM).
In 2022, the GDP of Da Ming County completed 19.63 billion yuan.
