Lianchi District, belonging to Baoding City, Hebei Province, is one of the central districts of Baoding City, with geographic coordinates between 38°25′ and 38°56′ north latitude and 115°22′ and 115°34′ east longitude. Located on the alluvial flood plain of the Caohe River, the surface of the area is relatively flat, and the terrain slopes from northwest to southeast, high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with an elevation of between 14 and 18 meters above sea level. The climate belongs to temperate semi-humid and semi-arid continental monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons in spring, summer, fall and winter. There are Yimuquan River, Hou River, Baicaogou River crossing the southwest district territory. With a total area of 177.6 square kilometers, the People's Government of Lianchi District resides in the former North Municipal Government Office, and Wusilu Street is located at No. 789, Chiyi Middle Road. As of October 2023, Lianchi District has 10 streets, 2 towns, 5 townships and 1 provincial-level high-tech development zone under its jurisdiction. According to the seventh population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, Lianchi District had a resident population of 913,541 people. Baoding City, the original south city district, north city district were founded in 1953, since 1955, the name, after several times of division and merger. 1998 December, the south city district, the north city district zoning adjustment, and the establishment of the system until April 2015. 2015 May, the north city district and the south city district merged into the Lianchi District. Lianchi District is served by the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway, National Highway 107, Beijing-Guangzhou Railway and Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway. There are a total of 35 cultural relics protection units (10 national, 2 provincial and 23 municipal) in the district, including the ancient Lotus Pond, the Zhili Governor's Office, the former site of Baoding Army Officers' School, the Daci Pavilion, the Huaijun Public Office, the Qinghe Road Office, the Qingzhu Xisi Temple, the former site of the Yude Middle School, and the Zhili Trial Hall, among other monuments.On Nov. 4, 2019, Lianchi District was awarded as the Clean City (District) of the Year 2018 by the Department of Housing and Construction of Hebei Province. In 2022, the gross regional product of Lianchi District completed 60.78 billion.
