Anxin County, part of Baoding City, Hebei Province, is hosted by Xiongan New Area. It is located in the central part of Hebei Province, connected with Xiongxian and Renqiu in the east, bordering with Gaoyang County in the south, Qingyuan and Xushui Districts of Baoding City in the west, and neighboring Rongcheng County in the north. The geographical coordinates lie between 38°10′ and 40°00′ north latitude and 113°40′ and 116°20′ east longitude, with a total area of 738.6 square kilometers. As of June 2020, Anxin County has 9 towns and 4 townships under its jurisdiction. According to the seventh census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Anxin County was 453,723 people.
The territory of Anxin County was under the jurisdiction of the State of Yan in the early Warring States period. In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Anxian County (Anzhou) and Xin'an each took the first character of its name and merged to form Anxin County, which belonged to Baoding Road of Directly Affiliated Provinces.On December 23, 1994, Baoding District and Baoding City merged to form the city of Baoding, to which Anxin County was subordinate.On April 1, 2017, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council issued a notification of the decision to set up the Xiongan New Area of Hebei Province, and Anxin County belonged to the administrative scope of the Xiongan New Area. Anxin County is crossed by the provincial highways Rongli Line and Baoding Line, and has the largest freshwater lake in the North China Plain, Baiyangdian.
