Chengwei Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Bono County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the southeastern part of Bono County, 15.3 kilometers from the county seat, neighboring Nanzhuang Town, Li County, to the east, MaDian Town and ChengYuZi Township, Anping County, Hengshui City, in the west and south, and bordering with Nanshiaowang Township in the northwest, with the maximum distance between the east and west of the jurisdiction being 13.5 km, and the maximum distance between the north and south of the jurisdiction being 10.5 km, with a total area of 70.93 square kilometers.At the end of 2018, the Chengwei Town had a registered household total population of 45,641.
In 1957, it was divided into Dachengwei Township and Dunjiazhuang Township.In 1962, it was established as Dachengwei Commune.In 1983, it was established as Dachengwei Township, Zhuangjiaotou Township and Dutianzhuang Township.In 1990, it was reorganized as a town. As of June 2020, Chengwei Township has 33 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government resides in Dachengwei Village. The main cultural relics and monuments include Xingguo Temple Pagoda in Xiecun, the ruins of the Returning Jinjing, and the inscription of the Returning Jinjing.
