Guigang City, ancient name of Guizhou, Guixian, also known as Lotus City, is located in the southeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of the Xijiang River Basin in the middle reaches of the Xijiang River, the central Xunyu Plain, is an important node city of the Pearl River - Xijiang Economic Belt, an important gateway to the Great Southwest Sea Route, and the end point of the China-Burma Oil and Gas Pipeline Natural Gas Pipeline. Port of Guigang is the first large port of inland waterway in western China, the pilot city of national smart city, and the golden waterway of Xijiang River flows through the city. It is bordered by Wuzhou in the east, Yulin and Qinzhou in the south, Nanning in the west and Laibin in the north. The total area is 10,602 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Guigang had a resident population of 4,355,600. In October 1995, it was upgraded to a prefecture-level city with the approval of the State Council. As of January 2023, Guigang City has three municipal districts and one county under its jurisdiction, and is vicariously administering the county-level Guiping City. Specialties include pineapple honey, Guigang lotus root, longan, dried osmanthus, Qintang Mao Jian tea, and Luo Han Guo. Guigang City, nicknamed Lotus City because of the many lotus flowers planted in the city, is a new city with a history of more than 2,000 years in an ancient county and a new inland port city full of vitality. Guigang City is a national first-class port open to the outside world, one of the top ten river ports in China, the largest river port in western China, a national demonstration zone for undertaking industrial specialties, a national model city for double embrace, a national advanced city for mass culture and sports, a garden city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, an advanced city for patriotic hygiene of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a civilized city of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. A number of outstanding figures such as Shi Dakai, Yang Xiuqing, Xiao Chaogui, Wei Changhui, Huang Chang, Luo Ergang, etc. have emerged in Guigang. In 2022, Guigang's GDP will be 157.210 billion yuan, an increase of 3.2% over the previous year at constant prices.
