Tongwei County, belonging to Dingxi City, Gansu Province, is located in the center of Gansu, east of Dingxi City, since the Han Yuan Ding three years (114 BC) set up the county, has a history of more than 2,100 years. With a total area of 2908.5 square kilometers, it now has 18 townships, 332 villages and 10 communities under its jurisdiction, and the county government is located in Pingxiang Town. As of the end of 2021, Tongwei County has a resident population of 321,100 people.
Tongwei County is located in the loess plateau hills and gullies, with grass livestock, corn, potatoes, Chinese herbs, small grains, fruits and vegetables and other specialty industries. In 2021, Tongwei County realized a gross domestic product (GDP) of 6,162,630,000 yuan, an increase of 8.1% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 118.07 million yuan, an increase of 10.2%; the added value of the secondary industry was 757.29 million yuan, an increase of 3.4%; and the added value of the tertiary industry was 4,224.62 million yuan, an increase of 8.4%.
