Huachi County, part of Qingyang City, Gansu Province, is located in the eastern part of Gansu Province and the northeastern part of Qingyang City, bordering on the northeast with Zhidan County, Wuqi County, and Dingbian County in Shaanxi Province, and neighboring on the southwest with Huanxian County, Qingcheng County, and Heshui County in Qingyang City, with a total area of 3,791 square kilometers. As of June 2023, Huachi County has 6 towns and 9 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Huachi County had a resident population of 118,300. Anciently belonging to Yongzhou of Yugong, Huachi County is the place where the Zhou people started their business and the source of farming culture, and the county was set up by the Western Wei Dynasty with a history of more than 1,400 years. Huachi County is an old revolutionary area with a unique position in history. In the summer and fall of the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929), Liu Zhidan came to Nanliang to spread revolutionary ideas to the poor peasants; in the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), the Nanliang Guerrillas, a revolutionary army, were established; in the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934), Liu Zhidan, Xie Zichang, Xi Zhongxun and other revolutionaries of the older generation in Nanliang of Huachi, the first Soviet regime of the northwestern Shaanxi-Gansu Border, was established. In 1934, Liu Zhidan, Xie Zichang, Xi Zhongxun and other revolutionaries of the first generation created the first Shaanxi-Gansu Border Soviet Regime - Nanliang Government in Nanliang of Huachi and opened up the revolutionary base area of Shanxi-Gansu Border with Nanliang as the center, which became the only remaining revolutionary base area in the country in the late stage of the Second Domestic Revolutionary War, provided a landing point for the Central Committee of the CPC and the various Red Armies during the Long March, and a starting point for the Eighth Route Army to go to the front line of the resistance against the Japanese. In the history of Chinese revolution, it has the important position of "two points and one existence". In 2022, Huachi County will realize a GDP of 15.061 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry will be 767 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry will be 12.599 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry will be 1.695 billion yuan.
