Silver District, belonging to Gansu Province, Silver City, Silver because of the name of the mine, because the enterprise set up the district. Located in central Gansu, west of silver city, the upper reaches of the Yellow River in the middle, located in the northwest edge of the Loess Plateau in Longxi, the general trend of the topography of the northwest high, southeast low, the average elevation of 1946.5 meters. It borders with Gaolan County of Lanzhou City in the west; facing the Yellow River in the south, it is separated from Qingcheng Township of Yuzhong County and Pingbao Township of Jingyuan County by the river; adjoining Liuchuan Township of Jingyuan County in the east; and bounded by Zhongquan Township of Jingtai County in the north. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Baiyin District was 337,645 people.
With a total area of 1,352 square kilometers, Baiyin District governs 2 townships of Qiangwan and Wuchuan, 3 towns of ShuiChuan, Silong and WangHang, and 5 streets of People's Road, Park Road, Gongnong Road, Silong Road, and Textile Road, 45 administrative villages and 44 communities, with an urbanization rate of 90.2%.
In July 2019, selected as a pilot county (district) of the National Intellectual Property Rights Project. 2021 Gansu Blue Book, Gansu County Comprehensive Competitiveness "top ten counties".
In 2020, the city's annual gross domestic product of silver district completed 49.727 billion yuan, calculated on the basis of constant prices, an increase of 2.8% over the previous year. Among them: the primary industry added value completed 10.052 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0%; the secondary industry added value completed 17.032 billion yuan, an increase of 0.1%; the tertiary industry added value completed 22.642 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1%. The ratio of the structure of the three industries was adjusted from 18.00:37.43:44.57 in the previous year to 20.21:34.25:45.54.
