Shapu Town, belonging to Dinghu District, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, is located in the south of Dinghu District, located in the south bank of the Xijiang River, under the Antelope Gorge, west of the Antelope Gorge, east of Jinli Town, Gaoyao District, south of Raoke Mountain, bordering with Gaoyao District, Sheungang Town, and the north of the Xijiang River, with the street of Guangli, Yong'an Town, separated by the river. The total area of the jurisdiction is 119 square kilometers. As of the end of 2019, Shapu Town had a household population of 23,883.
In the first year of Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty (1368), the Ming army conquered Zhaoqing, and Zhaoqing Road was reclaimed as Zhaoqing Prefecture.In November 1986, the district was withdrawn and established as the town known as Shapu Town of Gaoyao County.On January 7, 1988, the State Council approved the establishment of Dinghu District of Zhaoqing City.On January 28, 1988, the People's Government of Guangdong Province approved the transfer of Shapu Town into the jurisdiction of Dinghu District. As of June 2020, Shapu Town has 1 community and 13 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. The town's people's government is located at No. 10 Chengqian Road, Shapu Town, Dinghu District.In July 2020, Shapu Town was awarded the honorary title of National Health Township for the 2017-2019 cycle.
