Guiling Town, belonging to Jiedong District, Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, is located in the western part of Jiedong County, east of Deqiao River and Yuezhen Town, south of Linpan Town, west of Baita Town, north of Yuhu Town and Xinheng Town border. The total area is 31.84 square kilometers.In 2018, Guiling Township had a household population of 73,241.
The word "Guiling" comes from the name of the local dike, which was founded in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty (1662~1722), because the dike is located in the village of Guiling, where the Liu family lives, so it is also known as the "Guiling dike". 1961, Pansi Commune was split into two communes, Guiling and Linpan. 1983, Guiling Commune was split into two communes, Guiling and Linpan. In 1983, Guiling Commune was changed to a district, and in 1988, Guiling District was changed to a town, and in December 1991, it was transferred to Jieyang. As of June 2020, Guiling Township has 1 community and 16 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
