Park Overview
The Guangzhou Airport Economic Zone is adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao. It is home to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, one of China’s three major hub airports, providing seamless connectivity to Guangzhou’s population of 16 million and serving as a gateway to the entire South China region and Southeast Asia. The airport’s integrated, multi-modal transportation system is continuously being optimized and improved. Terminal 2 and the Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) facility have successively come into operation, while the northern extension of Metro Line 3 has been opened to serve Terminal 2. Construction of expressways such as the Second Airport Expressway, North Third Ring Expressway, and Huaguan Expressway is underway, and urban rail projects—including the Guangzhou-Foshan Ring Line, the new Bai-Guang section of the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity Railway, and the Guangzhou-Qingyuan section of the Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway—are progressing in an orderly manner. In the future, the airport will achieve seamless integration with high-speed rail, urban rail, and the metro.During the 2018 World Routes Development Conference, cooperation agreements were reached to launch 28 international routes, including those to Madrid, Milan, and St. Petersburg. To date, Baiyun Airport’s route network covers nearly 220 destinations across five continents, with over 300 routes in operation. The airport ranks 13th globally in passenger traffic and 19th in cargo and mail throughput.
