Liancheng County, belonging to Longyan City, Fujian Province. Simply called "Lian", it is located in the western part of Fujian Province, on the east side of the southern part of the Wuyi Mountains, neighboring Yong'an City and Xinluo District in the east, Shanghang County in the south, Changting County in the west, and Qingliu County in the north, with a total area of 2,579 sq. kilometers.In 2022, Liancheng County had a household population of 336,000 people, with a resident population of 248,000 people. As of June 2023, Liancheng County has 12 towns and 5 townships under its jurisdiction.
In Song Dynasty, Liancheng County was established by analyzing Changting County. It is the hometown of dried red heart groundnut in China, the hometown of orchid culture in China, and the national export quality and safety demonstration area. It is a famous old revolutionary area, one of the 21 constituent counties of the former Central Soviet Area, and one of the earliest distribution centers and largest settlements of the Hakka people.In April 2020, the People's Government of Fujian Province approved the withdrawal of Liancheng County from the provincial-level poverty alleviation and development key counties.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Liancheng County will be 31.722 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7%. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 4.160 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 13.429 billion yuan; the added value of tertiary industry is 14.132 billion yuan, and the proportion of three industries is 13.1∶42.3∶44.6.
