Fengze District, belonging to Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, Fengze District is located in the center area of Quanzhou City, on the north bank of the lower reaches of the Jin River and the south bank of the lower reaches of the Luoyang River. It is separated from Hui'an County by the Luoyang River, adjacent to Licheng District and Nan'an City in the west, adjacent to Jinjiang City by the Jinjiang River in the south, bordering Luojiang District in the north, and bordering the Taiwan Strait in the southeast, with a total area of 129.63 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Fengze District has eight streets under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Fengze District had a resident population of 726,000 people.
Fengze District is named after "Fengze Doumen", a water conservancy facility built in the Song Dynasty. Within the district, there are Laojun Rock, Mituo Rock, the Third Buddha, the Holy Tomb of Lingshan, the Southern Shaolin Temple, the Zhenwu Temple, the West Lake Park, the Forest Park, the Museum of Overseas Transportation History, the Overseas Chinese History Museum, the Quanzhou Museum, the Fujian-Taiwan Rim Museum, the Haihaipu Folk Culture Village, the Jinxiuzhuang Folk Art Park, and cultural heritages such as the Nanju Opera, the Nanyuin (southern music), the Nanbu (southern architecture), the Nanshaolin Wushu (southern Shaolin martial arts) and so on.
In 2022, Fengze District will realize a GDP of 85.0 billion yuan, of which: the added value of the primary industry will be 190 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry will be 15.68 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry will be 69.13 billion yuan. The ratio of the three industries is 0.22:18.45:81.33. The per capita GDP is 117,567 yuan.
