Anxi County, belongs to Quanzhou City, Fujian Province. Anciently known as Qingxi, it is located in the southeastern part of Fujian Province and the southwest corner of Quanzhou City. It borders Nan'an City in the east, Hua'an County in the west, Tong'an District in the south, Yongchun County in the north, Changtai District in the southwest and Zhangping City in the northwest. It is 74 kilometers long from east to west and 63 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 3057.28 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Anxi County has 15 towns and 9 townships.In 2022, Anxi County had a household population of 1.2 million.
Anxi County, which takes the meaning of the peaceful flow of streams, has a history of 1,035 years. It is famous for its tea industry, and is called the Tea Capital of China. It is known as the "Dragon and Phoenix Famous District", in which Qingshuiyan, Wenmiao and Chenghuangmiao are the most famous. It is a national garden county, a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, one of the main ancestral home of Taiwan compatriots, and the hometown of Chinese oolong tea.
