Taijiang District, belonging to Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, is located in the south of Fuzhou City, on the north bank of the North Harbor on the lower reaches of the Minjiang River, between latitude 26°02′-26°05′N and longitude 119°16′-119°22′E, with a subtropical oceanic climate, with long summers without scorching heat and cold winters, with a total area of 18 square kilometers. According to the seventh census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Taijiang District was 411,819 people. As of January 2023, Taijiang District has 10 streets under its jurisdiction, and the district government is located in the District Committee Building, No. 88, Taijiang Road, Houzhou Street.
Taijiang District was formerly known as Nantai. Han Gaozu five years (202 years ago), Min Yue Wang Wuju embarked from the river, built a platform in the Great Temple Hill altar to heaven, "climbed the South City look forward, there is a platform on the river", Taijiang, Nantai thus named. In 1945, the Republic of China, the establishment of Taijiang, in September 1968, renamed Chiwei District, in April 1978, to restore the name of Taijiang District. In 2022, the GDP of Taijiang District will be 67.86 billion yuan, an increase of 5.6%.
