Heji Town, belonging to Chongqing Yongchuan District, is located in the southern part of Yongchuan District, connected with Jiangjin District in the east, Songyi Town in the south, bordering Zhutuo Town in the south-west, Xianlong Town and Wuma Town in the west, and Satellite Lake Street and Linjiang Town in the north, which is 29 kilometers away from the People's Government of Yongchuan District, with a total area of 80.4 square kilometers.
During the Ming Dynasty, Xintunli was set up in the area of Hezhi Township (the area of present-day Hezhi Cangbao Mountain); in August 1992, Hezhi Township, Shuimian Township, and Ke Ming Township were merged to set up Hezhi Township. According to the seventh population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Heji Township was 36,452 people. As of October 31, 2021, Heji Township has 1 community and 15 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the township people's government is located in Heji Community.
