The Chongqing Yubei National Agricultural Science and Technology Park was originally established in 1997 as the first municipal-level modern agricultural development zone approved by the Chongqing Municipal Government. In 2001, it was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a National Agricultural Science and Technology Park, becoming one of the first pilot projects in the country.In 2010, the Ministry of Science and Technology officially designated it as the Chongqing Yubei National Agricultural Science and Technology Park. It ranked eighth among the first 38 parks nationwide in a comprehensive evaluation and became the first national-level agricultural science and technology park in Chongqing to be formally accepted and designated. In 2013, it was rated as an “excellent park” by the Ministry of Science and Technology and was listed as one of the “National Science and Technology Specialists’ Rural Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Bases,” receiving priority support as an organizing unit for the Spark Program.As a key platform for Chongqing’s “pioneering and experimental” urban-rural integrated development, and the main battleground for Yubei District’s rural revitalization strategy and modern agriculture near the airport, successive Party and state leaders have visited the agricultural park to inspect and guide its construction and development. Successive municipal government leaders have served as heads of the park’s construction leading group, providing comprehensive leadership and driving its development.

The agricultural park is planned and located in Xinglong Town, Yubei District, with a total planned area of 27.46 square kilometers, encompassing six administrative villages. Construction will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase covering 13.06 square kilometers, encompassing 55 communities across three villages—Xubao, Guangfo, and Longzhai—in Xinglong Town.The agricultural park is adjacent to the Liangjiang New Area and a 10,000-ton deep-water port. It is located 18 kilometers from Jiangbei International Airport and 38 kilometers from Jiefangbei. National Highway 210, the Yulin Expressway, National Highway 351, North-South Avenue, and the Third Ring Expressway all traverse the area, and the entire zone is included within the planning scope of the one-hour high-speed rail loop surrounding the main city.
