Jiangbei District, belonging to Chongqing Municipality, is one of the core districts of the main city of Chongqing. It is located in the north of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River, and has a long strip-shaped distribution from west to east. 1955, Chongqing Municipal District Adjustment, renamed Jiangbei District. Jiangbei District has nine streets and three towns under its jurisdiction, covering an area of 220.77 square kilometers. As of November 1, 2020, the resident population of Jiangbei District was 925,800 (7th Census). Jiangbei District has been awarded the honorary titles of "National Model City of Shuanghong", "Chinese City People's Sense of Acquisition Example Award", the fourth batch of national intellectual property demonstration cities, and national civilized urban area, etc. On October 20, 2020, it was selected as the National Model City (County) of Shuanghong. In October 2023, the city was selected as a benchmark city for business environment in Chongqing in 2023, and in November, it was awarded "National Food Safety Model City" by the Office of the Food Safety Commission of the State Council. In 2023, the gross regional product of Jiangbei District was 174.40 billion yuan, an increase of 6.7% at comparable prices, of which the primary, secondary and tertiary industries realized an added value of 130 million yuan, 44.09 billion yuan and 130.18 billion yuan, an increase of 3.8%, 9.7% and 5.6%, respectively.
