Toad Town, belonging to Jiangjin District of Chongqing Municipality, is located in the west of Jiangjin District, bordering with Baisha Town and Tanghe Town in the east, adjacent to Bailu Town, Rongshan Town and Wanglong Town in Hejiang County of Sichuan Province in the south, across the river from Zhutuo Town of Yongchuan District in the west, and connected with Zhuyang Town and Songyao Town of Yongchuan District in the north with a total area of 208.75 square kilometers.
In the early Qing Dynasty, the territory of Shitou Township belonged to Si Shan Li; in December 1993, Shitou Township, Erxi Township and Yangliu Township merged to build Shitou Township. As of the end of 2018, the household population of Shitou Township was 102,569. As of June 2020, Shitou Township has 3 communities and 16 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township's people's government stationed at Zhongshang Road in Shitoukou Community.
