Banan District, belongs to the main city of Chongqing. It is located in the southern part of the main city of Chongqing, bordering Fuling and Nanchuan districts in the east, Qijiang district in the south, Jiangjin, Jiulongpo and Dadukou districts in the west, and Nanan District, Jiangbei District, Yubei District and Changshou District in the north, covering a total area of 1,825 square kilometers.In 2022, Banan District had a resident population of 1,195,500 people. In the first year of King Blush of Zhou (314 BC), Jiangzhou County was established, belonging to Ba County. Jurisdiction is equivalent to the districts of Chongqing. There are "800 years Chongqing, 3000 years Ba County". During the Shang Dynasty, the Ba people established their capital here. Historically, it is the county, state and government of Chongqing attached to the outline of the county, known as the mother county of Chongqing. It is the only place with the word "Ba" in the 38 districts and counties of Chongqing.
