Taihe County, part of Fuyang City, Anhui Province, is known as Lushang, Xingqiu, and Gangeqiu in ancient times. It is located in the northern part of Fuyang City, at the southern end of the Huanghuai Plain, between Fuyang City and Bozhou City, with a total area of 1,867 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Taihe County has 30 towns and 1 township under its jurisdiction, and another development zone. As of the end of 2022, Taihe County had a resident population of 1,369,000 people.
Taihe County has a history of more than 2,000 years since it was established in the Qin Dynasty, and was changed to Taihe County in the eighth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1304), signifying peace and harmony. There are seven ruins of the old city, the ancient Juyang, the capital of Chu, five ancient cultural sites, and ancient buildings such as the Yuan Dynasty Temple of Literature Complex. Historical celebrities include Zhang Duan (pú), the teacher of Emperor Zhang of the Han Dynasty, Fan Pang (pāng), the Qing imperial envoy of the Eastern Han Dynasty, and Xu Guangjin, the Governor of the two provinces of Guangdong in the Qing Dynasty. Taihe County is the hometown of Chinese calligraphy and painting art, the hometown of Chinese folk culture and art, China's advanced grain production county, China's model greening county, China's medicine distribution center, China's largest raw material for hair products, and the production and processing base of orange stalks.
In 2022, Taihe County realizes a regional gross domestic product (GDP) of 53.36 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry is 6.55 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry is 21.85 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry is 24.96 billion yuan. The structure of the three industries is 12.3:40.9:46.8. GDP per capita (based on resident population) is 38,978 yuan.
