Jieshou City, county-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, administered by Fuyang City, is located in northwestern Anhui Province, alias Jiegou, Linquan County to the south, Taihe County to the east, and Shenqiu County and Dancheng County counties in Henan Province to the northwest of the city's junction, belonging to sedimentary plains, flat terrain, and is in the transition zone between the warm temperate zone and the subtropical north, belonging to a warm-temperature zone with a semi-humid monsoon climate, with a total area of 667.3 square kilometers. As of May 2023, the city has 3 streets, 12 towns and 3 townships. As of the end of 2022, the city had a resident population of 639,000 people.
Jieshou was abolished as a city and established as a county in 1953, and was restored as a city in 1989, named after Liu Qi, a famous general of the Southern Song Dynasty, who defeated Jin Woodruff and drew the boundary here as a ditch. During the war period, Jieshou due to the transportation is closed, not subject to Japanese aggression, Shanghai, Nanjing and other cities have moved to Jieshou merchants, once the population increased dramatically, merchants gathered, trade is booming, so there is a "small Shanghai" reputation. Jieshou has a long history and a rich culture. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Wang Mang and Liu Xiu staked their claim here, leaving behind the ancient historical story of "Wang Mang chasing Liu Xiu", and the town of Guangwu became the only town in the country named after the emperor's year. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Liu Futong, the leader of the Red Turbans, raised the anti-Yuan flag in his hometown, laying the foundation for the establishment of the Ming Dynasty. There are attractions such as Shulianpu Lake Provincial Wetland Park in the city.
In 2022, Jieshou will realize a GDP of 41.15 billion yuan, an increase of 5.6% over the previous year.
