Guizhi District, belonging to Chizhou City, Anhui Province, is located in the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, the south of Anhui Province, between longitude 117°06′-117°50′, latitude 30°15′-30°48′, with a total area of 2,516 square kilometers. It belongs to the subtropical monsoon humid climate zone with mild climate and abundant rainfall. As of 2021, Guizhi District has a resident population of 590,000 people. As of 2022, Guizhi District has 11 streets and 9 towns under its jurisdiction, with the district people's government stationed at No. 99 Kangzhuang Avenue, Jiangkou Street.
In the sixth year of Yangwu Shunyi (926), Qiupu County was renamed Guizhi County, and in August 1988, Guizhi was abolished as a county and established as a city, and in December 2000, Guizhi was abolished as a city and established as a district. The Yangtze River, which runs 76 kilometers across the whole area, is a national waterway with 5000-ton ships navigating all year round. Chizhou Port, one of the key ports on the Yangtze River trunk line, is approved by the State Council to be open to ships of foreign nationalities, and its annual cargo throughput reaches 18 million tons. The Yanjiang Expressway, Tongjiu Railway and Ning'an High-speed Railway pass through the city, Chizhou Jiuhuashan Airport was completed and opened to the public, and the Chizhou Yangtze River Highway Bridge was officially opened to traffic on August 31, 2019. Guizhi District is a national ecological economic demonstration area, a national excellent tourist city, a national model city of double embracing, a famous historical and cultural city in Anhui Province, a landscape garden city in Anhui Province, and a civilized city in Anhui Province.
In 2022, Guizhi District realized a regional GDP of 47.255 billion yuan, an increase of 5.2% over the previous year at comparable prices.
