Shizong County, belonging to Qujing City, Yunnan Province, is located in the southeast of Yunnan Province and is one of the old revolutionary counties in Yunnan Province. It borders Luoping County in the east, Xilin County in the southeast across the river, Qubei County in the south, Luxi County in the southwest, and Luliang County in the north. Shizong County, is a mountainous agricultural county with a multi-ethnic population. It was named after Shizong, a tribal leader during the Tang Dynasty, who led his troops to gather in Nanglongdian (Xihua Village, outside present-day Shizong County).On April 30, 2019, the People's Government of Yunnan Province decided that Shizong County would withdraw from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties.On December 31, 2019, it was selected as a typical county for rural innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. In 2022, the gross regional product of Shizong County was 214,162.1 million yuan, an increase of 8.8% over the same period in 2021.
