Songming County, belongs to Kunming City, Yunnan Province. Located in central yunnan province, northeastern kunming city. It is bordered by Malong County in the east, Yiliang County, Guandu District and Panlong District in the south and southwest, Wuhua District and Fumin County in the west, and Xundian County in the north, with a total area of 830.5 square kilometers. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Songming County was 410,929 people. As of October 2022, Songming County has 2 streets and 3 towns under its jurisdiction. Songming County is known as the "grain silo in Dianzhong", "hometown of lanterns", "hometown of dragons and lions", and in November 2018, it was honored on the "2018 China's Hundred Counties of Happiness List". On December 31, 2019, it was selected as a typical county of national rural innovation and entrepreneurship. In 2023, Songming County realized a gross domestic product (GDP) of 17.499 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 5.0% at comparable prices.
