Urumqi County (Uyghur: ئۈرۈمچىناھىيىسى), belonging to Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the northern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains and the southern edge of the Junggar Basin. It lies between latitude 43°01'08"~44°06′11″ north and longitude 86°37′56″~88°58′22″ east. Urumqi County has a mid-temperate continental arid climate, with large temperature differences, drastic changes in cold and heat, long hours of sunshine, and plenty of heat. As of 2019, Urumqi County has three townships and three townships as well as two area streets, with the county government stationed at No. 99, Nanhua Road, Banfanggou Township, Urumqi County. The administrative area covers 4,211 square kilometers, and as of the end of 2019, Urumqi County had a household population of 52,406.
