Darbancheng District is subordinate to Urumqi City in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and is a sub-district of Urumqi City; it is located in the northern foothills of Tianshan Mountain Range, the southern part of Junggar Basin, the southern suburb of Urumqi, west of Dawan Township and Toli Township, southeast of Turfan City and Torkorkon County, north of Luchaogou Township and Fukang City, Jimusar County, and the south of Tianshan Mountain Range, the middle Tiangel Mountain. As the eastern gate of the capital city, Dasan City has been an important post on the Silk Road since ancient times, connecting the transportation hub of the North and South Border, "Dasan" Uyghur is "the spine of the mountain" that is, the pass, since the beginning of the Han and Tang dynasties, that is, as the military and political importance of the place has received extensive attention, which has led to the emergence of important military passages and major transportation routes, and the development of the city. There were important military passages and major transportation routes, such as the Bashuijian Road (the present-day Baiyanggou Gorge-Urumqi section of the Tuk-U Highway) and the military fortress "Bashuizhen", which became an important passage on the New North Road of the Silk Road. The district has 4 management committees (Chaiwoubao Area Management Committee, Wulapo Area Management Committee, Aiwelgou Area Management Committee, Salt Lake Area Management Committee), 3 townships and 1 township (Donggou Township, Xigou Township, Aksu Township, Dasancheng Township), including 17 neighborhoods, 21 administrative villages, and 1 ranch. With a total population of 63,000 and a total area of 4,759 square kilometers, it is the largest county-level district in Urumqi. In 2019, Darbancheng District realized a gross regional product of 3.026 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of primary industry was 186 million yuan, up 8.5%; the added value of secondary industry was 1.544 billion yuan, up -0.5%; and the added value of tertiary industry was 1.296 billion yuan, up 15.1%. The added value of industry is 1.373 billion yuan, accounting for 45% of GDP.
