Dingxiang County, belonging to Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, is located in the north central part of Shanxi Province. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and has four rivers running through its territory. The topography of the county is in the shape of a skip from east to west. To the north of the General Mountain Wutai Mountain remnants and Yuanping City, Wutai County adjacent to the southeast to the Wenshan, the Department of the boat mountain and Yu County, Yangqu County border, the west and Xinfu District neighboring. Dingxiang County is 48 kilometers long from east to west and 36 kilometers wide from north to south, with a total area of 865 square kilometers. Dingxiang County Government is located in Jinchang Town, Jinchang Street 1. The branch railroad from Xinzhou to Riverside and the trunk highway from Xinzhou to Fuping cross the whole territory. Located in the Xin Ding Basin, Dingxiang has fertile land and a mild climate, and is the main grain producing area of Xinzhou City. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Dingxiang County was 193,997. From January to November 2020, Dingxiang County completed a gross regional product of 4.12 billion yuan.
Dingxiang County has a long history, with Neolithic sites belonging to the Longshan culture, such as Xishe, Hengshan, and Baicun, and the remnants of the county town in the west and south, which are the remains of the ancient city of Yangqu in the Western Han Dynasty.In 2019, it was listed as the second batch of national agricultural product quality safety counties.In July 2020, the National AiHui Society recognized Dingxiang County as a national sanitary county in 2019.In September 2022, Dingxiang Frank was selected as a member of the "the first list of provincial key specialized towns".
In 2022, the gross domestic product of Dingxiang County completed 7.95 billion yuan, and the total retail sales of consumer goods completed 2.757 billion yuan, an increase of 1.6% year-on-year.
