Gugiao, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province, administered by Taiyuan City, is located in central Shanxi Province, west-central Taiyuan City, at the eastern foot of the middle section of the Lvliang Mountain Range and the middle and upper reaches of the Fen River, with a continental climate in the north temperate zone, bordering seven districts and counties, and with a total area of 1,511.79 square kilometers.
