Changzhi City, prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shanxi Province, the provincial sub-center city, ancient name Shangdang, Luzhou, Lu'an, etc., is located in southeastern Jin, Jin, Hebei, Henan and other provinces, located in the Shangdang Basin, relying on the Taihang Mountains in the east, neighboring Hebei and Henan Provinces, the western screen of the Taiyue Mountains, and bordering with the city of Linfen, the southern part of Jincheng City, and the northern part of the border with the city of Jinzhong City, with a notable warm-temperature zone semi-moist continental monsoon climate. "Changzhi" was originally the name of the county in which Lu'an Prefecture was located, and was named in the eighth year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1529), taking the meaning of "long-lasting peace". In 2023, the GDP of Changzhi City amounted to 280.62 billion yuan, which was 5.6% higher than that of the same period of the previous year according to the constant price. By industry, the added value of primary industry was 10.27 billion yuan, up 5.1% year-on-year; the added value of secondary industry was 181.47 billion yuan, up 7.2% year-on-year; and the added value of tertiary industry was 88.88 billion yuan, up 3.5% year-on-year.
