Yingxian County, belongs to Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province. It is located in the north of Shanxi Province and the southern end of Datong Basin, looking east to the danger of Hengshan Mountain, south to the importance of Yanmen, north to the sea of coal in Datong, and west to the electric capital of Shuozhou. Spanning between 112°58'-113°37' east longitude and 39°17'-39°45' north latitude, the county plan is in the shape of a parallelogram. It is adjacent to Hunyuan County in the east, Shanyin County in the west towards Pingshuo, Huairen City in the north, and Fanchi County and Dai County in the south. The county has a land area of 1,708 square kilometers, with 3 towns, 9 townships and 298 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Yingxian County is 243,970 people. The county government is located in the town of Jincheng.
Yingxian County, belonging to the northern temperate continental monsoon climate, has four distinct seasons, with an average annual temperature of about 7 ℃ and an annual rainfall of 360 millimeters. The first frost is in late September, and the frost-free period is 100 to 140 days. There is a world-famous wooden pagoda in the northern part of the county. The Yingxian Wooden Pagoda is also known as the Buddha Palace Temple Shakyamuni Pagoda. It is known as the world's three most wondrous towers along with the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy.In October 2017, it was named a national garden county by the Ministry of Housing and Construction.
