Yanta District, belonging to Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is the seat of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, Shaanxi Military Region and Xi'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone. It is located in the middle of Guanzhong Plain, south of Xi'an city, bordering Chan River and Baqiao District in the east, Chang'an District in the west and south, and bordered by the Second Ring Road and Flood Control Canal in the north, and neighboring Weiyang District, Lianhu District, Beilin District, and Xincheng District, respectively, with a total area of 152 km2. In 2022, Yanta District had a resident population of 2,109,300 people, with a total household population of 1,490,000 people. As of June 2023, Yanta District has 10 streets under its jurisdiction, (of which Yuhuazhai Street and Zhanba Street are hosted by Xi'an High-Tech Zone). The district government is located at 168 Xiaozhai East Road. Yanta District, named after the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. In 1954, the ninth district was abolished and Yanta District was set up. In the west, there is Xi'an Hi-tech Zone, in the east, there is Chanba Ecological Zone and Qujiang New Zone, and in the south, there is Shaanxi Aerospace Economic and Technological Development Zone, which are four national development zones. It is a national famous area for science, education and cultural tourism, with many famous monuments and tourist attractions such as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi History Museum, Daxingshansi Temple and Qinglong Temple. In 2023, Yanta District realized a GDP of 311.894 billion yuan, up 4.6% year-on-year.
