Shanting District, referred to as "place", belongs to Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province, is located in the northeastern part of Zaozhuang City, east of Lanling County, Feixian County, and Pingyi County, south of Shizhong District and Xuecheng District, west of Tengzhou City, and north of Zoucheng City, with a total area of 1,019 square kilometers.In 2022, Shanting District had a household population of 523,900 people. As of June 2023, Shanting District has 1 street and 9 towns under its jurisdiction. The district government is located in Shancheng Street. Shanting is located in front of Gao Shan, behind Tobacco City, on the Flying Cloud Terrace, which is said to have been built by the Prime Minister of Tobacco City, hence its name. In November 1983, the district was established by analyzing Qicun District and Teng County. It is a national experimental area for sustainable development and a national key ecological function area.
