Old Zhai Township, belonging to Mengyin County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, is located in the eastern part of Mengyin County, bordering Tambu Township in the east, Yizhuang Township in the south, Mengyin Street in the west, and Yodian Township in the north, with an area of 121.79 square kilometers of administrative area. As of the end of 2019, the household population of Laozhai Township was 42,807.
In the second year of Xuantong of the Qing Dynasty (1910), it belonged to the East Second District; in September 1985, it was changed to Old Zhai Township. As of June 2020, Old Zhai Township has 9 communities and 26 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the township people's government stationed in Bali Miaozi Village.
In 2019, there are 15 industrial enterprises in Old Zhai Township, including 3 above scale, and 54 general stores or supermarkets with business area over 50 square meters.
On November 10, 2021, it was recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as a 1 billion yuan township in 2021 for the national rural characteristic industry.
