Mengyin County, part of Linyi City, Shandong Province, is located in the south-central part of Shandong Province and the northwestern part of Linyi City, in the hinterland of the Taiyi Mountain Range and in the shade of the Mengshan Mountains; it is neighboring Yishui and Yinan counties to the east, and Xintai City of Tai'an City to the west, and is bounded by Fei and Pingyi counties on the south by the Mengshan Mountains, and by Yiyuan County to the north. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Mengyin County was 485,252 people. Mengyin County was founded at the beginning of the Western Han Dynasty, named after the yin of Mount Meng, and belonged to Taishan County of Yanzhou. At the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, the county was abolished due to war. In 1313, it was rebuilt and in August 1953, it became a part of Linyi area, and in December 1994, Linyi was abolished and established as a city, still belonging to Linyi city. Mengyin County has been named as the second batch of practice and innovation bases of "green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains", the second batch of national agricultural product quality safety counties, the second batch of counties (districts) of water-saving society construction standard, and the national garden county city, etc. In 2021, Mengyin County will realize the goal of "green water and green mountains are golden mountains". In 2021, Mengyin County will realize a GDP of 19.587 billion yuan, an increase of 7.8%; general public budget revenue of 1.14 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1%; fixed asset investment of 8.77 billion yuan, an increase of 12.1%; total retail sales of consumer goods of 7.92 billion yuan, an increase of 16.2%; and per capita disposable income of 28,808 yuan, an increase of 9.3%. In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Montgomery County will be 20.678 billion yuan.
