Dingtao District, belonging to Heze City, Shandong Province, is located in the southwestern part of Shandong Province and the central part of Heze City, between longitude 115°20'-115°47' and latitude 34°57''-35°15". The total area is 846 square kilometers. Dingtao District has a warm-temperate monsoon continental climate, with four distinct seasons of cold winters and hot summers, cool autumns and dry springs, and abundant sunshine. As of 2017, Dingtao District has 2 streets and 10 towns under its jurisdiction, with the district government located in Tianzhong Street. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Dingtao District was 530,600 people.
Dingtao County was first established in the 26th year of Emperor Qin Shi Huang (221 BC). According to the Records of the Grand Historian: at the end of the Spring and Autumn Period, after Fan Li helped Yue to destroy Wu, he moved to Dingtao, and "took Tao as the center of the world", so he settled down in this area to do business, and "in the course of nineteen years, he made three thousands of gold", and he was honored by the descendants as the ancestor of the Shang Dynasty, and he was buried in Tao after his death, and the name of Dingtao began from this. 2016. 29 April, 2016, Dingtao County, Dingtao County was established. On April 29, 2016, Dingtao was abolished as a county and set up a district. Within the territory of Jiguang Expressway, Jihe Expressway, Rinan Expressway, Hexu Expressway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway passes through the territory. Dingtao District is the best investment city in Shandong Province, the model county of Ping'an Shandong construction, the hometown of roses, the hometown of opera, the hometown of martial arts. In 2022, Dingtao District realized a gross domestic product (GDP) of 27.151 billion yuan, an increase of 5.7% over 2021 at comparable prices.
On December 31, 2019, it was selected as a typical county of national rural innovation and entrepreneurship.
