Longchang, county-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, administered by Neijiang City, is located in southeastern Sichuan Province, at the southern end of Neijiang City, straddling longitude 105°02′ to 105°26′ east and latitude 29°11′ to 29°32′ north; it is 210 kilometers from Chengdu City and 138 kilometers from Chongqing City. The total area of 794.41 square kilometers; in October 2022, jurisdiction over 11 towns, 2 streets, as of the end of 2022, the household population of 745,000 people. Municipal government stationed in Guhu Street, the domain of the terrain in the northeast is higher, the southwest is lower, is a subtropical humid monsoon climate, the average annual temperature of 17.7 ℃, is the national base of commercial grain, hogs, fruits and special aquatic products.
Longchang city territory, the Tang Dynasty Wude four years (621 years), the territory of Laifeng County, the Ming Dynasty Longqing first year (1567) cut Lu County 2 miles, Rongchang 4 miles, Fushun 14 miles to set up the county, named Longchang County, meaning "prosperous prosperity"; in January 1952, Lu County Prefecture changed to the Longchang Prefecture in April 1978, Longchang transferred to the Neijiang region, in June 1985, Longchang, the city of Longchang. Longchang City is the demonstration area of Sichuan Province, the hometown of Huang Fusheng, the pioneer of the Xinhai Revolution; "the hometown of China's stone pagodas", "China's lapis lazuli culture city", "wild waterfowl paradise in southern Sichuan". On September 22, 2020, Longchang City was awarded the 2019 Sichuan Provincial Grain Production "Harvest Cup". 2021, Longchang City was named "Fish and Rice Hometown in Western China".
In 2023, Longchang realized a GDP of 36.63 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2%.
