Ebian Yi Autonomous County is subordinate to Leshan City in Sichuan Province, located in the Xiaoliangshan District in the southwest, adjacent to the Buddhist holy land of Mount Emei. The county town of Shaping lies between 103°15′ and 103°33′ east longitude and 29°15′ north latitude. It is 56 kilometers wide from east to west and 73 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 2,382 square kilometers. Located in the transition zone between the Sichuan Basin and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, belongs to the subtropical humid monsoon climate, due to the topography of the disparity in height, the temperature varies with the altitude, the vertical difference is obvious. In September 2016, Ebian Yi Autonomous County was included in the National Key Ecological Functional Area.On December 29, 2018, it was named the sixth batch of National National Unity and Progress Creation Demonstration Areas (Units) by the National People's Committee.
