Zhongjiang County, belonging to Deyang City, Sichuan Province, is located in the northwest of Sichuan Basin, neighboring Santai County of Mianyang City in the east, Daying County of Suining City and Lezhi County of Ziyang City in the south, Jintang County and Guanghan City of Chengdu City in the west, and Luogang District of Deyang City and Fucheng District of Mianyang City in the north. The county covers an area of 2,200 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the county had a total population of 1.349 million. As of 2022, Zhongjiang County has 26 towns and 4 townships.
Zhongjiang County is named after the ancient Zhongshui (now Luojiang). It is the hometown of Huang Jiguang, a national "Double Hundred Character" and a hero of special rank. Zhongjiang County is a large agricultural county in Sichuan hills, a large human resource county, and a pilot county of expanding power. The main highways passing through the territory are Zhongjin Expressway, National Highway G350, National Highway G245, Chengnan Highway, Chengba Highway, Chengdu Economic Zone Ring Road Highway, Suide Highway, etc., and the railroad passing through the territory is Chengda Railway. Famous specialties of Zhongjiang County include handmade hanging noodles, Zhongjiang white peony, Zhongjiang salvia, Zhongjiang pomelo and eight treasures oil cake. Scenic spots include Southwest Boundary Cave Gorge Group Scenic Area, Jiguang Lake, China Peony Valley, China Hanging Noodle Village, Zhongjiang North Pagoda, Huang Jiguang Memorial Hall and so on.
Zhongjiang County has been honored as the National Advanced County in Grain Production, National Strong County in Food Industry, National Pilot County (District) of Intellectual Property Rights Project, Advanced County in Three Rural Areas of Sichuan Province, Advanced County in Service Industry Development of Sichuan Province, Advanced County in County Economic Development of Sichuan Province, and listed among the Top 100 Counties in Western China in 2022.
In 2022, Zhongjiang County realized a gross domestic product (GDP) of 43.919 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 10.023 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4%; the added value of secondary industry is 17.037 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3%; the added value of tertiary industry is 16.859 billion yuan, an increase of 2.7%.
