Yuechi County, a county under the jurisdiction of Guang'an City, Sichuan Province, is located in the northeastern part of the Sichuan Basin, with the terrain high in the northwest and low in the southeast, and belongs to the Central Subtropical Monsoon Climate Zone, with an area of 1,478.71 square kilometers. As of June 2023, the county has 2 streets, 23 towns, and 2 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, the county had a total population of 1,126,000 people.
Yuechi was founded in the second year of the Tang Wuzhou Hailongtian (697), and is an important part of the Northeast Sichuan Economic Zone, within the one-hour economic circle of the Sichuan-Chongqing Cooperation Demonstration Zone and Chongqing. Local FestivalsYuechi Farmers' Cultural Tourism Festival is one of the top ten famous festivals in Sichuan. Famous figures include Wu Xue, Yang Renkai and Liu Piyun. As a thousand years of fish and rice, since ancient times has been known as the "grain silo of east Sichuan", because of the abundance of rice, enjoy the reputation of "silver Yuechi", so it is also known as "silver city". It has been awarded a series of honorary titles such as "Top 100 Counties and Cities in Western China" and "The First Batch of Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Supervision Demonstration Counties in Sichuan Province", etc. On April 28th, 2019, the People's Government of Sichuan Province decided that Yuechi County would withdraw from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties.
In 2023, Yuechi County realized a gross regional product of 31.56 billion yuan, an increase of 8% year-on-year.
