Xingqing District, belonging to Yinchuan City, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is located in the eastern part of Yinchuan City, which is the core area of the capital Yinchuan City and the center of science and technology, culture, education, economy, finance and commerce and logistics of the autonomous region. The center is located between 38°28′ north latitude and 106°17′ east longitude. East of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region with Ertokqian Banner border, west of Tangliao ancient canal, north and south of Lingwu City, Yongning County, Helan County, Pingluo County, respectively, bordering the jurisdiction of a total area of 828 square kilometers. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Xingqing District was 808,282 people. As of September 2021, Xingqing District has 11 streets, 2 towns and 2 townships under its jurisdiction, and the district government is located at No. 471 East Beijing Road.
Xingqing District, was founded in Tang Yifeng three years (678). Song Tianxi four years (1038), Danghang leader Li Yuanhao established the Western Xia State, set the capital in Xingqingfu. 2002 November, approved by the State Council, the district re-adjustment, renamed Xingqing District. There are many ancient buildings in the district, such as Chengtian Temple Pagoda, Haibao Pagoda and Yuhuang Pavilion.
In 2020, Xingqing District realized a gross regional product of 55.105 billion yuan, an increase of 2.5% year-on-year, total retail sales of consumer goods of 34.009 billion yuan, the structure of the three industries is 1.60:13.31:85.09, and the contribution rate of the economic growth is 0.1%, 11.73% and 88.17% respectively. The value-added of industries above designated size was the same as that of the previous year; investment in fixed assets increased by 5% year-on-year; general public budget revenue decreased by 9.2% year-on-year; total retail sales of consumer goods decreased by 5% year-on-year; and disposable income per capita of urban and rural residents increased by 4.5% and 6.5% year-on-year, respectively.
