Bago Division, a division of Burma. It is located in the south-central plains of the country. It has an area of 39,404 square kilometers. Population 5,014,000. The capital is Pegu.
It is divided into four districts. Myanmar is divided into 7 divisions (taing/division) and 7 states (pyine/State). Seven divisions: Ayeyarwaddy, Magway, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Sagaing and Tanintharyi are the main ethnic Burmese areas. Seven States: Kachin, Shan, Chin, Karen, Kayah, Mon and Rakhine are mostly inhabited by various ethnic minorities.
